About
Coach Bobbee Valentine CFC, CPC, MM
I have taken many paths in my life
and so many times I was lost. Like anyone else, there have been
a number of crisis throughout my life. Each has made me stronger
than the one before. I have learned to gain strength from old wounds
and use that strength in determining the road ahead. But the one
that led me here was the behavior of my then 16 year old son, Danny.
It was through his choices that I found what I was looking for.
My path. My passion.
My decision to send my son to a
boarding school for troubled teens was the beginning of a new life
for my whole family. The program I chose was one that involved
the whole family. At the start, my husband Brad and I were required
to attend seminars on self-discovery. I went into that kicking
and screaming. After all, I already knew all I needed to know and
if only my son would get his act together, we could all go on to
be a happy family. Ok, I was dillusional. Maybe ignorance
is bliss, but I wasn’t feeling very blissful at the time. As the
seminars went on, I found that I was not so reluctant to be there.
Towards the end, I couldn’t wait for the next one. Which eventually
brought me here.
My son graduated that program in
July 2004. He acquired a new sense of self-confidence and self-awareness
that I had not thought possible in the beginning. My younger two
teens are also reaping the rewards here. They are maturing into
whole, happy, productive adults. I believe they are thriving in
an environment rich with compassion, communication, and happiness.
I
went on to support other parents of teens-at-risk and found that
I really had learned the things I needed to know to move ahead
in my life. The art of learning from the past, rather than wallowing
in regret about it. For me, each day is a new opportunity to understand
my world and the worldviews of the people around me. There’s always
more to learn, of course. I know enough to know that I want to
know more, feel more, and be more. I have come to a place of peace
and self-love and understanding of who I am and who I want to become.
I have come to understand that life is a series of choices that
I make for myself and the only thing getting in the way of following
my dreams was….me.
And so I became a Certified Performance
Coach (CPC). Then I went onto become a Certified Family Coach (CFC).
I have also trained with Tim
Kelley and Marcia
Wieder. These, along with a Masters in Management has given
me the education and experiences that I sought to assist other
families and individuals.
My purpose in this life is this:
"I am a messenger of possibilities and inspiration to families".
I am a Life Coach specializing
in families. My focus is on my client’s present place and future
goals. How will you get from here to there? How will you decide
what it is that you want in your life...and then go out and get
it? Let’s work together and make it happen!
